Nishant Verma, Students from Pharmacy department are convinced by
the workshop that the patients can benefit from their actions by guiding the
tobacco users about the ill effects, availability of treatment protocol and
helping them to get rid of this life threatening disease causing agent.
Tobacco sensitization program is supported by District
Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC, c/o Chief Medical Officer Meerut, Govt of UP),
under the National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) 2019-20 coverage.
Volunteers deliberated on the ill effects of tobacco on the youth, their family members and members in the society, overall health and financial burden in India and explained the relevance of SAVE the Youth – Win Over Tobacco program to control tobacco menace.
“Be Smart Do Not Start” comic booklet on tobacco awareness authored by Dr Pawan Gupta, MS MCH (National President of ICanWin Foundation and Sr Cancer Surgeon) was distributed among the 50 students and teachers; a quiz competition was conducted at the end to which students answered as per their understanding.

A Tobacco
Control Committee consisting of 4 teachers was formed in the school to keep an eye
on different tobacco related activities and its violation under COTPA
2003.Yellow line campaign conducted with a painting depicting the school as
tobacco free zone.
