The attendees shared their experience on societal attitude towards cancer as a disease and tobacco as a habit and agreed that we do not have a clear understanding of both and hence take wrong steps in addressing the same.
Rabindra Mishra made the group aware about the possibility of preventing cancer when one can understand the signs and symptoms of cancer and see a doctor to detect the disease at an early stage. Special slogan "Chhota Daana" coined by Dr Pawan Gupta, was emphasized where in all were advised to self-screen their body (that includes oral cavity, breast and cervix) any changes in their body, may it be a small nodule, lump, abnormal discharges, etc, and see a specialized doctor for corrective measure; this step can save millions of people from cancer.
