Dr Javali herself a Dental Specialist with a keen interest in oral premalignant lesions, suggested it is important that tobacco related premalignant lesions like leukoplakia, erythroplakia, submucous fibrosis should be recognized at the earliest and treated to give a cure. It is important that all the doctors should be trained for oral cavity examination.

Tobacco is
-Most important preventable cause of death

-The Doctors are very important not only as a role model but also in detecting and treating the tobacco habit. The steps of quitting tobacco were also discussed. Dr Pawan stressed on the fact that quitting tobacco is possible. Quitting will help one live longer, no matter what the age or how long one has used tobacco.
-Second hand Smoke is a known carcinogen. Non- smokers including children should be protected from this harmful environment pollutant.
