Technical/ Medical Expert Dr Pawan Gupta and coordinator Mr Rabindra N Mishra of ICanWin Foundation.
Principal, Mrs. Rashmi Mishra, claimed
that this school is one of the top 5 performing schools of Meerut. A student was
critical about government’s tolerance towards tobacco production and sales in
India. He asked whether tax is the only consideration even when its established
that tobacco causes cancer and kills the user. He also questioned why government
is so lenient towards an issue that is spoiling youth mass in India. Volunteers
from ICanWin Foundation explained that government does not gain much from
tobacco sale but rather loses more; that’s why government is doing such
sensitization programs and control activities.
Tobacco sensitization program is supported by District
Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC, c/o Chief Medical Officer Meerut, Govt of UP),
under the National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) 2019-20
coverage.
