and officials at APCPL Pledge not to take tobacco 15.9.2017

The program
initiated by Mrs Anurita Manohar, AGM (HR), and her team from HR department in association
with I CAN CARE (INNOVATIVE CANCER CARE AND REHABILITATION).
The program
is in keeping with the policy adopted by the company to make NTPC completely
tobacco free.
A group of
CISF jawan with their officers posted at APCPL, Jharli and some officials of
APCPL took pledge not to take tobacco in any form in their lifetime. Around 200
participants were present. The oath was administered by Shri J Sahoo and Dr
Pawan Gupta in presence Sri Y S Sekhawat DC CISF.
During the
interaction it was evident that contrary to the belief most of the people
taking tobacco wanted to quit. They were looking for ways that can help them
quit and all of them had atleast tried quitting earlier.
Earlier during the day Sri N.N. Mishra CEO APCPL NTPC had lauched the SAVE the Youth WIN OVER TOBACCO Campaign to make the campus completely tobacco free.
Dr Pawan
Gupta author of “WIN OVER TOBACCO – MADE EASY” in his presentation gave
practical tips on an easy method of quitting. For the Non tobacco users the
importance of second hand and third hand smoking and chewing was discussed and
the precaution that they should take.
Dr R P
Srivastav, CMO, and Dr Jayshree, Surgeon,
were present and actively participated during the workshop and have assured to
start a tobacco cessation clinic soon to help those who want to quit.
21 tobacco
users registered for WIN OVER TOBACCO WORKSHOP the date for the same will be
announced soon.
The Win
over tobacco workshop was conducted by Dr Pawan Gupta and Mr Rabindra Mishra of
I CAN CARE. Launch of Save the youth program in the campus was discussed and
also setting up of a tobacco cessation clinic is planned.
