POSITIVE ABOUT LIFE
I CAN WIN

Why me?

Arthur Ashe (July 10, 1943 – February 6, 1993) was a legendary Wimbledon player.  He remains the only black man to win the singles title at Wimbledon.

He was hemophilic. Because of this he needed frequent blood transfusions. Arthur used to have a lot of heart attacks. A few months after his first bypass surgery, he was on the verge of returning to professional tennis. However, at a family trip, he developed chest pain while running. He had to get another heart surgery. A few years after his second heart surgery, he fell ill frequently. He was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during the second heart surgery in 1983.

From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does God have to select you for such a bad disease? Why you?"

To this Arthur Ashe replied, "The world over, 5 crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakh learn to play tennis, 5 lakh learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi-finals, and only 2 to the finals. When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?' And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?' If I were to say, "God, why me?" about the bad things, then I should have said, "God, why me?" about the good things that happened in my life."

I CAN WIN - GAYATRI HAVAN Ghaziabad 6.3.2011

The monthly Gayatri Haavan to win over cancer was held on 6th March at Sai Mandir Patel Nagar, Ghaziabad.
The Havan was conducted by cancer winners Mrs Madhu Mahajan and Mr Ravi Mahajan. Mr Geeta Mishra arranged the program.
26 participated in the program which is a slight improvement as compared to previous month, and I expect the participation will increase in months to come as more people will know about this and Cancer Winners will join to tell the World that we can "WIN OVER CANCER".
Dr Pawan Gupta M.Ch. Senior Cancer Surgeon was present to make people aware about early signs and symptoms of cancer. Cancer is curable if detected early, treated promptly and followed by quick rehabilitation.
I specially mention the presence of Sri Dharam Pal Gupta, father of Dr Pawan. At the end he gave his view about life and what to do and what not to do.
I am thankful to Mr Naagarji, for supporting this event by providing space as well as material.
I look forward and appeal to all to join in this event to spread the message and fight to win over cancer. Next Haavan will be on 3rd of April, 2011 at Sai Mandir, Patel Nagar, Ghaziabad.

Sri Prabha Gupta, President, Ghaziabad Chapter
Sri Manish Goel, Secretary, Ghaziabad Chapter
